So I failed at zero waste living... kind of. I think there's some stuff I've done a really good job with and some stuff I've done not a good job with... but I'm excited to be back here on UA-cam to reignite some sustainability and zero waste content. My goals for this channel are to create a zero waste pantry and do a cost comparison on those items, create a data driven sustainable and minimal ...

    For those looking at supplements, it's important to note that most people don't need supplements, supplements aren't regulated by the FDA and may not contain what they same (or may have it in a form that humans can't absorb), and the best nutrition comes from your diet. It may be more beneficial to meet with a nutritionist since everyone has different dietary needs and limitations. Many people cannot thrive on a vegetarian or vegan diet for a prolonged period of time, so it's especially important to meet with a nutritionist if you want to adapt to those diets.

    Unfortunately, this technique did not work on my Trader Joe's Coconut Oil jar. Maybe TJ's do not want their labels removed. Thanks for the video. I've seen this recommendation many times and it works for so many people.

    How wonderful you are back. I found one of your videos years ago, on your website, it was a 'blah # of outfits from blah # of clothing items' and it was so good! It's also refreshing to hear your honesty about the challenges that zero wasters have faced over the last few years. The pandemic did the same thing to me, I ended up just shopping at the supermarket. It was too much to deal with during the pandemic (I also have a special needs child to care for). And once these great habits are damaged, it's so hard to get back to it. I really look forward to your new series, and I'll try to join you where I can 🎉

    love this. I feel like I've had to be willing to give up certain things that maybe costed extra money if I wasn't able to afford it at the time and just try to only pick a few things to focus on until i am able to have that job that would provide more for me

    Just out of curiousty what is the actual waste reduction throughout the whole supply chain? I get that they make it 0 waste at the customer front, but if all they do is just unpack it, throw the packing and fill a pump bottle for customers to shop from no actual waste is reduced.

    • @xTashleyx
      @xTashleyx 4 дні тому

      My guess is that all of it comes in bulk containers that are compostable/recyclable/reusable which would reduce because they aren't packaging everything individually. At least this is what I hope. I have worked at Target and a lot of the "green" dish brushes came invidually wrapped in plastic so I wouldn't put it past companies to do that either.

    • @WallaWillie
      @WallaWillie 4 дні тому

      @@xTashleyx yeah that's what I wish would happen. But my pessimistic side says that if that was the case it would be front and center in their marketing.

    Hey there, I love your channel but I’m pretty sure mixing vinegar and hydrogen peroxide creates paracetic acid which can be dangerous and toxic!

    • @ElizabethChronis
      @ElizabethChronis 11 днів тому

      Yes! It’s really not good for you. Also mixing vinegar & baking soda dilutes the cleaning power of both - the only time it’s useful is when the bubbles have a mechanical effect, like creating pressure in a blocked drain or expanding the product into a hard to reach surface.

    tip, the lomi is worse than just throwing your things outdoors. it only desiccates your waste and grinds it. it dose not make it into composte or anything like that. the second you put it outdoors like in the video, it will take up mositure and be basicly the same thing as it was before. and at the end of the day, you just wasted a LOT of energy for nothing. as boiling away water is super energy intensive, youre just increasing your carbon footprint for nothing

      Maybe she means that it’s now organized in a way that she can keep up with and won’t get out of hand - that’s also a kind of sustainability. Even if not, she’s clearly shopping second hand in this video and only for baskets that can be reused in multiple ways.

    • @chethakmp3

      Hi. She is in fact a leading personality in waste management, sustainable usage of resources, reducing plastics, reducing single use or non biodegradable plastics, reducing overdependence on petrol, diesel etc. She has written a book and articles and has made many videos. She is practising a zero waste lifestyle. So she tries to reduce wastes as much as possible within food items, grocery items, different purchases choosing the items which have no plastic or environmentally sustainable items. She often suggests to read ingredients and try to consider alternative options. So by sustainable here, she likely means to have brought jute or bamboo baskets and old shoe boxes as shelves to keep her items. She avoided plastic baskets and put her old shoe box as a basket instead of throwing it away. I hope this helped some how
